Temporary Stuff

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Phillip Cairns has been freelancing in the film industry in St. John’s, Newfoundland, since 2006 when he directed his first film short, “I Want It All.” He works as a sound recordist, an assistant editor, a closed captioning guy — a little bit of everything. He is a member of NIFCO (the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Co-Operative) and he spells his name with two Ls, not one. He also likes this quote from filmmaker, Michel Gondry: “If an idea is good, it’s on the verge of being stupid.” (Phillip has plenty of stupid ideas, so this gives him hope for his next film.)
