Could Be Shrews, Corinthian and Caricature

I saw something the other day that made me think, “This looks like the work of shrews.”

In other news, I should have put mesh over my bottom entrances long before now.

Frost on the ground (November 3rd, 2021).

Have you ever put mesh on and trapped a mouse inside for the winter? I’ve been lazy (or burnt out) this fall and have slacked off on most of the little-but-important things I should have done with my bees to get them ready for winter. Once it gets cold like this, little critters start looking for a warm sheltered place to live — like the inside of a beehive.

Quarter-inch/6mm mesh keeps the shrews out. It does knock off some late-season pollen, but not much that I’ve ever seen. I really should have put the mesh on a couple weeks ago. Anyhoo.
