I pulled a frame of honey from one my hives recently to make sure I got at least one taste of honey this year. Here I am scooping off the second scoop of honey from the frame:

It was a deliciously mild tasting honey. I installed the frame of honey into a slow building afterwards.
February 2019 Postscript and Spoiler-Alert: I was eventually able to harvest honey from my hives. I just needed the patience to wait until later in the fall.
The weather forecast for the next week looks good. Not a full week of sunshine, but it’s the best looking week we’ve had for a while. If the weather continues not to be total garbage, we’ll supposedly have a fair chance of getting some honey from our hives. I’m reluctant to feel optimistic, but I’m almost there.
